Homemade Sauce for Salad and Sandwiches

Homemade Sauce for Salad and Sandwiches

This is my recipe for my most popular salad dressing I make.  It’s a version of a creamy Italian dressing.  You don’t get any of the preservatives you would get in a store bought dressing.  That alone is worth the extra calories.  This is a very easy recipes and worth the ten minutes it takes to make.  Please try and let me know.

Recipe

1 to 2  cloves of garlic and 1/8 tsp salt

2 tbs fresh flat leaf parsley

1 tb fresh oregano

3 to 4 fresh basil leaves

1 cup real mayo

1/2 cup sour cream

1/4 cup olive oil

1/3 cup grated Parmesan

cayenne pepper or to taste

paprika around 1/2 tsp

worcestershire about 1 tsp

The how to -

Mince the garlic with a knife then sprinkle 1/8 tsp ssl and mash with a fork to make a paste.  Chop the parsley, chives and basil very finely and add to the garlic.

in a bowl, combine the garlic mixture, mayo, sour cream, olive oil, parmesan, cayenne, paprika and worsteshier,  tasting and adjusting the seasonings as needed.  Chill for at least a couple hours .

****subs for herbs could be rosemary, green onions, chives or even just use extra of one or the other.

This sauce is just as good on any sandwich as it is on a salad. Great dip for veggies and crackers.

A few twists of fresh cracked pepper is nice too,
